Hey everyone,
I just got back from a week in Seoul, South Korea and thought I’d share some of my experiences. Overall it was an amazing city to visit - the food was incredible (bi bim bap and kalbi are definitely worth trying!), the parks were beautiful for relaxation, and the palaces were really cool to check out.
One of the highlights was taking a food tour in the Hongdae neighborhood. We tried so many different street foods like tteokbokki, bindaetteok pancakes, and desserts like patbingsu. It was a great way to experience the local cuisine. Has anyone else done a food tour there before? Curious to hear your thoughts.
I also really loved the changing of the guard ceremony at Gyeongbokgung Palace. It was fascinating to watch the guards in their traditional uniforms and hats. The palace grounds were just so peaceful too. If you go, try to time your visit for one of the hourly ceremonies - it’s a nice break from the city.
My only regret is that I didn’t have more time there! The city just seemed to have so much more to offer. For anyone who’s been recently, what are some can’t-miss things I should add to my list for a future trip back? Also, what areas outside Seoul would you recommend visiting if I have more time?
Looking forward to hearing from others who have visited this amazing city! Feel free to share any tips or favorite experiences of your own.
