My Trip to Burundi-East Africa

My name is Gloria and I am from Kigali, Rwanda. Last year 2019, I had a chance to visit Bujumbura, a beautiful city in Burundi. I have a friend of mine called Darlene, she lives there and she was so glad to take me around the city!

We started with the beach at the lake Tanganyika, It is one of the biggest lakes in East Africa. The view on the beach was stunning and people were very friendly. I loved the way this place was built, like you could have your food or drinks while facing the lake, and I loved the blue colors that they have used on the cushions, it truly matched with the rest of the environment.

Darlene told me that she usually order pizza, so we order the biggest pizza for two and It was very good.

After having fun on the lake Tanganyika, we went to buy food to cook for dinner and she took me to a local market that had a lot of different things. It was so clouded and people seemed so busy but I really enjoyed the experience.

Lastly, we went to have an ice cream in a pretty small shop and went back home happily!

@Gloria_hortence seems like I have found a friend too to take me on tour in Rwanda as Darlene did for you in Burundi. It’s a great post, I could tell you had an amazing time and I look forward to visiting both Rwanda and Burundi soon.

Hi @Gloria_hortence

Thank you for sharing. Have you been to Burundi before? It looks like a cool place to visit. How long did you stay there? What was your most favorite thing? The pool and the pizza look really nice. I can’t wait for pool days to come.

I haven’t yet been to Africa, but I’d really like to experience something different and see new places and meet new people.

Hello @DanniS !

It was my second time to Burundi, the first time that I was in Burundi I had only 12 years old.

It is a very cool place to visit. I stayed there for only few days and the most favorite part about my trip was lake Tanganyika, and Burundians are friendly.

Are you guys still in lockdown? I hope you will be able to visit the pool soon

You should visit Africa, and of course, I would recommend East Africa which has tropical beautiful countries on the whole continent.

Thanks!
