Hello! My name is Katherine and I am from Uruguay, Montevideo. I’m 22 years old, I live with my boyfriend Nicolas and my dog Ramon.
I really feel passionate by three things: travel, pictures and develop code (I am a Software Developer).
I have share about 500 of my pictures and they have almost half a million views! For me that is one of the most inspirational thing that had happened to me.
As a traveler that do not use Travel Agancys, I know the important of knowing where you are going, how much time it will takes, how mucho will you have to wait, tips and recommendations… basically, everything. And I think that Google Maps had made it, it mades a community of people sharing without expecting anything in return. As a Developer I know the feeling of make a program that helps others work or that improves the day to day of someone.
The Local Guides’ community is more than that, it is no longer about helping someone in a job… it’s about helping someone to fulfill the trip of his or her dreams, it’s about sharing just to help, and to meet other people who feel the same and who like to do it.
So, summarizing: The thing I love more of sharing are experiences in each place I have been no matter if it’s small or big, I like to share things that only someone that has been there can know: traveling and helping at the same time. Also I like to publish my best pictures of each place, it’s useful to other when they are planning and for me is great to see them liked my picture. And last, but not least, I am in love with all of Google (not only Google Maps) functions, is a lot of work and is just like a dream, develop code that helps people to travel or… to change their life.
