It’s been amazing journey till now…Started off accidentally by exploring places on Google maps apps and since then never looked back…
Today I will express what all I love about Google maps,my experience,contribution and interesting things happened so far…
I love the simplicity of Google maps application.Its been used by almost everyone…Other day I saw an old lorry driver used Google maps to deliver the goods…I was so impressed that I stopped and ask him how do find using Google maps ,he said sir it’s my bread and butter now…and I was like wow…I loved how Google maps penetrated in everyone’s life…
I love Google maps Because any one can contribute…it’s first handed information and best part is no money involved…Here most of reviews are unbiased.
But for me best reason of loving Google is “you are always local wherever you go.”
I found real importance of Google maps when I visited Dubai last year for leisure trip.
I planned our whole trip…
I found out places to visit ,how to visit and what are the best time to visit…
With such exhaustive information available, I also got pro tips which saved lot of my money…
Let me share you one interesting contribution of mine which tells how important is every information you provide as local guide.I visited a restaurant in Dubai by the name of veg world…it’s amazing Indian restaurant… I found out that the timings of restaurant are not correct…I talked to the owner and ask about the correct timing and edited there and then.You won’t believe 2 days later when I visited this restaurant owner itself comes to me for thanking about the edit. He said Sir because of your edit my business started increasing…he said he noticed substantial increasing of footfall during this period.
I edit his working timings and it got approved. This was so satisfying that i cant express in words.
So I always try to contribute in a way which helps business as well as customer…I contribute by adding helpful pictures ,detailed reviews and edits if any.
Recently I Explored feature of lists in Google maps apps.
It’s very interesting Feature I must say ,you will get ready first hand information from list easily.I also started making list which is useful for any one .But I found it can be even better if you can search those lists…
You can see that list only if it’s shared by someone let say to friends or groups,etc or by going someones profile and check saved list which I feel is tedious because you don’t know what list they are sharing,but imagine if it’s searchable this amazing data in the form of list will be available to whole world.
Anyone can get first hand information…I also put this as an idea on local connect forum.

Let me tell you fun I had so far with Google Maps community…
I am fun loving person love meeting new people…I already made many new friends through local connect and meetups I attended …I attended interesting meetups like food walks to old Delhi and latest was wall art at lodhi road…
The proudest moment so far with me was invite to Delhi connect live 2018…it was so amazing and informative.I loved every bit of it…It was so good to see fellow local guide, before this I never met any local guide,sharing experience with them was superb. I made few friends there and interacted with respect googlers which was no less than dream. Infact this event inspired me to contribute even better and with more seriousness.
