My stay in an unknown hotel

Note: The places in this story are from India, I am not making up the names

I had a college errand to run in Manipal. I lived in a different state and I was about to go on the first solo trip of my life, out of state. So the plan was to stay in Udupi and travel to Manipal to do the errand and come back to Udupi and after that reach Chennai safely the next day. Easy right?

Well I thought so too, until I had to book my room. Well my budget was limited and I was searching site after site and found a decent hotel that came under my budget. But the thing was, I didn’t have any idea as to how the room would be. I didn’t want to spend the night in a very dark and scary room.

It has been a good two years after that trip now. If only I knew what I got to know after I went into that hotel room, while I was booking that room, I would have been a bit at ease. The room I stayed in was good, it had hot water, a good TV and they had good lights. The bed sheets were itchy but I had a good time in that hotel room. It was peaceful.

I shared these photos to google maps because, I liked to earn those points when you upload the pictures. I didn’t realize what I was doing then. After a few months, I got a mail from google saying more than thousand people saw my review and it was helpful. That’s when I realized sharing photos of unknown places, help people to get an idea of where they are traveling to and what to expect once there.

Traveling into the unknown can be like living through a suspense filled thriller film. You don’t know what to expect and when a silly jump scare would come out and make us feel miserable. Sharing an experience like this online can help out those in need ?
