My Reviews don’t get posted anymore!

I post my review and don’t get any error message. But when I check on another device, my review doesn’t come up! I recently left a negative review that was not, by any means to my understanding, violating the content policy. Could it be that the business owner flagged my review, if this is the case, what will happen now? I also tried leaving another review for another business and noticed that review also does not post! What does this mean?? And how can I go about finding out if I have been possibly suspended/restricted to post reviews and know why and how to fix it? Could it just be a glitch in the system that I need to wait and give it some time? Because it has already been 3 days or more that I’m having this issue. Please help…
Thanks

It is not a bug but the AI based spam filter blocking your reviews.

If you share your Maps profile link I will be happy to take a look. Maybe I can spot some potential issues.

Hi Morten, so happy to know you and thank you so much in advance for helping me with this as it has been bothering me so much!
I’m not sure how to share the link you are asking for! Could you please tell me step to step where to get it?
Thanks

On your Maps profile page there is an icon called Share. In the top right corner.

I do that, but then my share button kink looks different than yours! Then when I copy and paste it here this is what it says:
“See what I’ve posted to Google Maps
Level 3 Local Guide”
It is not a link! Is it because I’m on my mobile device? Should I try a browser?

Hello @Kiana it seems, you are on an iPhone and @MortenCopenhagen’s screenshot is from Android …? Did you try to click the three dots right of your arrow? Otherwise, in my opinion, the desktop is always better.

So I went to my computer and was able to get this URL. Is this correct?

Hi, I tried the desktop too and when I copy pasted the URL into a browser on my computer it gave me the right profile page but when I pasted it here, it gave the world map! I clicked on your contributions link and it works fine! Not sure why I can’t get it :frowning:

No, still not what Morten was asking for. Open your Maps profile on the browser, go to the address line and copy similar to https://www.google.com/maps/contrib/102857274193873601347/ The left part needs to be the same and the numbers on the right identify your profile - the example here, is mine.

This one worked. Thanks.

You have made 13 reviews while only 10 are public. So there is an issue.

Very young accounts are know for being checked more thoughly by the spam filter. So things might be solved if you continue making authentic contributions.

Your old reviews look great. Please share 2 if your resent reviews (text, photos and the Maps link to the places).

Oh perfect, finally! Thank you

I can see her contributions. So it worked out. Thanks.

Here is my 3 most recent reviews that are not publicly showing!

The weird thing is that the first review, I had wrote it 9 months ago and it was showing publicly but now yesterday when I was looking at it I found a typo and edited it and fixed the typo and now it is not showing!
I think it all started from my review for the “cocolux massage” just last week. I feel maybe the owner has flagged it and I say this based on her response on my feedback! Then Google became suspicious and blocked everything :frowning: This is all just my own guess, I don’t know, what do you think?
If you have a chance to read it, would you please tell me if the content may be potentially violating google’s content policy at all and that’s why it started to block me or suspend my account for leaving reviews? If this is the case, what do you think I can do? Is there a way to appeal?
*I had initially only posted the first paragraph, but then when I saw her response I went back and edited it writing the rest of it to fully explain things!

Please copy paste the review texts into a reply below together with the links to the places. If photo are attached to the reviews please also share those below.

Hi, I thought I shared the links and reviews above but I will copy paste the texts below as well as the links to the places. I didn’t take any photos of the place. I will first share the most recent review that I feel all the problems rise from!

Here is my review place link:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/D9QwFN9SXWaqstWLA?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy

Here is my review text:
This place is very unorganized. They have had a lot of staff turnover in the past couple of months! I’ve been there just 2 times and each time they started my massage at least 30min late and finished 5min early! Both times I booked for Thai massage and asked for the special Thai massage room and techniques but that never happened and just ended up with a regular massage! If you want a Thai massage don’t go here, they don’t have the certified therapists and only advertise for it! Also if your time is valuable to you don’t go here, as they make you wait for your turn for a while! All in all, if you want a good professional service stay away from here!
I’m going to be open and share the whole story so people can believe the unprofessional handling of the situation!
We never threatened or asked for a complimentary massage, if need be I can prove that! So here is what happened with details; The 2nd time we were willing to pay at a discount and was giving the spa a chance to make it right and they obviously failed and showed their true side of professionalism!
And the 1st time the manager Jessica offered the complimentary session herself as a goodwil because they really had screwed up and were trying to make it up to us; they had us wait 1 HOUR before giving us our massage around 9pm on Valentine’s night and we ended up not making it to our Valentine’s night dinner plan! Also because it was already close to 9pm and so late and the therapists were extremely tired, we were understanding of the situation and let them cut our massage time down and we were willing to come back another time to finish that round off plus the goodwill time the manager later offered on top of that! So what they did the first time was actually very nice and professional and that is what other businesses would have done as well to take ownership of a problem they cause to make it up to the client and that’s why we came back there again when we saw that level of professionalism and customer service!!! But unfortunately that did not last very long and they failed to follow through with that professionalism and not only the manager didn’t apologize this time, she spoke to us with a very rude and loud tone as if we were at fault for their unprofessional service and manners!
Putting aside the timing problem which proves how disorganized this spa is, how about the THAI massage techniques we booked for and never received? when we complained about this, the manager simply said they don’t have certified THAI massage therapists there anymore so why did they got us all excited that we were getting a THAI massage at the first place?!
We never leave a bad review even if we have such experience as our intention is to help people see the good in businesses, but this time marks our first bad review just for the sake of helping others avoid going to places like this that have no respect for your time and money and in the end blame you for making things happen the way they do.

Please also find attached the screenshot of the owner’s response that I was unable to copy paste the text.

Thanks.

I read your review and the response from the owner.

The recommended length if a review is one paragraph. Yours is way too long and influenced by your emotions. As you use the term unprofessional more than once.

I don’t know anything about the case, but the reply seems very professional to me.

Writing short and precise reviews is way better as seen above. Also because the entire text is shown to everybody. To read your people need to tap more and very few people will bother to read a long review.

But more importantly the short review without emotions will not be removed because it does not violate the guidelines. A long text is much more likely to be removed for guideline violations.

If I were you, I would delete your review. This also deleted their response.

Later you can try adding a much shorter review (just share facts), but you might be blocked reviewing this place for ever.

The remaining problem is the block if all new reviews. Give it some weeks. Try adding a new review once a week or so. If this does not help you should use this form:

But do not use it before removing this review.

You proved great skills to write good reviews before, so I’m pretty sure this issue can be solved.

Best of luck

Hi Morten, thanks a lot for your recommendation. You made me happy to know this issue is solvable with time because I was very frustrated and bothered by the situation :frowning:
So you are saying if I go ahead now and delete my review, then it will be completely removed from google server as well and google itself cannot ever see it again either, correct? As if I never gave this review? Well that would be nice if that is the case.
How about just editing it and making it shorter and more professional, would that do it? Or do you still recommend deleting completely so owner’s response will delete as well?
Thanks

Yes, when you delete it it is completely gone, but the spam filter will still “remember” the block. And it may take some time to stabilize.

I don’t think you will be able to fix it by editing it.
