My Reviews Aren’t Showing on Google Maps – Any Fix?

Question:
I often visit restaurants or tourist spots, take photos, and write reviews. However, my reviews are not showing up on Google Maps. Is there a way to fix this?

@D4rkLiDaNi I just checked your Google Maps profile and saw there are reviews that have been posted recently, even an hour ago from this reply. It would be good if you can elaborate more in your reviews rather than one liners. Have a look at the article below for suggestions on how to provide high quality contributions

Thank you for your feedback. However, you might have missed some of my reviews posted 2 days or even a week ago. In fact, my reviews often become hidden from public view a few days after being published on Google Maps. I want to clarify that all the places I review are locations I have personally visited — none of them are fake or fabricated. I always aim to provide honest and helpful contributions to the community. I’ve also attached some photos from my visits as proof of authenticity.

Greetings to you. I wish you success, patience, and calmness. One of the team members will respond to your inquiry. Just be patient.

Hi @D4rkLiDaNi

In your profile you wrote “Only with money - a lot of money - dreams can come true” and you added your gmail address.

You cannot make money as a local guide. Google local guides is a voluntary program where you can share information about the places you visit on Google Maps.

Having too many similar photos on your profile is considered spam and can cause you problems in the future.

I hope the more knowledgeable moderator @Ermest will comment here.

Thank you for your feedback regarding my Local Guide profile. I believe there may have been a misunderstanding. The phrase “Only with money - a lot of money - dreams can come true” is simply a personal quote I used, and it does not imply that I am trying to earn money through the Local Guides program.

I fully understand that Local Guides is a voluntary program, and I participate in it to share my experiences and support the community, not for any financial gain.

I appreciate your reminder about the content guidelines. I will remove my email address from my profile and will be more mindful to avoid posting similar photos in the future.

Thank you again for your guidance and understanding.

@Murat I think in the future it’s best to not to jump to conclusion too fast, unless you’re 100% sure. When I read that quote (even though I don’t personally agree) I also didn’t think it’s related to making money with Local Guides program. Let’s try to be more thoughtful towards each other.

@D4rkLiDaNi did you upload photos at the same time with your review? There have been cases in the past where that made the reviews hidden. Next time try submitting just 1 or 2 photos with your review. Like what’s been mentioned as well, try not to upload photos that are too similar, as it can be considered spam.

Thank you for your feedback. I’ll change the slogan to avoid any confusion.

Thanks for the tip! I usually upload the photos right after I take them, and then write the review a few days later, after I’ve had time to reflect on my experience. I’ll keep your suggestions in mind for next time, especially about avoiding similar photos.

If you are not commenting for money, that is fine, but when I looked at your profile, that was the first thing that came to mind.

If you are confident, that is fine, but if you are reported in the future, it could get you removed from the local guide program.

There are many people who have thousands of reviews that have been removed from the local guide program. I said this for your own good. Don’t misunderstand.

If you request that your comments be reviewed for more than a year when filling out the form, your comments will be reviewed and you will be contacted via email. Do not edit your published comments again.

Thank you for your comment and concern.
What I wrote was simply a sentence—if it caused any misunderstanding, I will gladly change it to something clearer in my bio.
I truly appreciate your advice and the time you took to explain.
