My review isn’t showing – need help

Hi,
I posted a review for a surgical clinic a few days ago, but it’s still not public. The review follows all Google policies and guidelines.

Support told me to post here for help – please assist.

Thanks!

Hello @Sara2 welcome the Local Guide Connect community!
All reviews, photos and videos posted to Google Maps are checked by an AI filter, not only for obeying the rules, but for preventing SPAM and false information. If rejected, Google never tells us, why this happens.
If photos or videos are attached to a review ad only one of them is rejected, the entire review including all other media will be hidden to the public.
If you ask your help here, you should provide links to your profile and the place your did post your review. A screenshot of the hidden review might help too.

Hi, and thank you for the info! I haven’t uploaded any photos or videos with the review — just the text. I’ve pasted the actual review below for reference.

Place where I posted: Google Search

My profile: Google Maps

And a screenshot of the actually review has been uploaded!

Thank you for the screenshot @Sara2.
Tow things, I noticed:

  • I would not mention any person’s name
  • try to remove the emoticons at the end.

@ErmesT any other ideas?

Thank you for all the answers.

After editing the text, how long does it usually take before it becomes visible to others?

I’ve been trying to post my review for over a week, and I even tried editing it after a few days, but nothing has happened. Yesterday I edited it again, but it still isn’t visible. What exactly should I do to make it show up? Should I delete it and start over? Or just edit it?

If there are no photos or videos attached, the text would be accepted within a few minutes or not all.

Unfortunately Google never tells us what exactly was the reason for rejection. A while ago, I spent much time by reducing half of the text until it was accepted and then adding little pieces again. At the end I found out, removing a hyphen ( - ) from a word did it.
In another case, starting to edit, I noticed the browser did mark a word as spelling error. I corrected it and the review was accepted immediately. So, better to watch for spelling errors too.

Other than that, you can appeal for it using the link mentioned by @MahabubMunna, but after submitting the appeal don’t change it anymore. If it is accepted, it might take several weeks, but you don’t receive any notification.

Do not do that, without changing the text significantly! Otherwise, it might be assumed as SPAM.

Hi!

Thanks for your reply!

So if I’ve understood this correctly, the edited text I rewrote still hasn’t been approved, which means I need to edit it again?

How many times does one have to edit a text for it to finally get approved?

Did you remove all names and emoji, @Sara2? Since I don’t see any review on your profile, I assume, it is the first you wrote, correct?

Tagging @ErmesT since he has much more experience and hopefully has another tip.

I’ve removed all the emotes and the dashes. Still, it’s not showing up, I just left a heart emote. I don’t understand what it could be. Yes, it’s my first review. Very strange.

Thanks for the tag, @WilfriedB
Hi @Sara2 , did you delete your review? I am asking because a review, even if not published, should be counted immediately in your contributions list, and in your profile the information we have is that " This person hasn’t written any reviews yet".
Regarding the review, I wanted to check the Listing in Google Maps:
The place has 16 reviews:

  • 4 of them (25%) are from contributors with only 1 review (that one)
  • 4 of them (25%) are from contributors with 2 to 4 reviews

This is an interesting signal, that is normally associated with fake reviews (places where the Business is pushing the customers to write a five star review, and can end in the removal of suspicious reviews.
It doesn’t mean that your review is not real, but simply that the filter is trying to protect the consumers against fake reviews, especially when people is traveling abroad to find a more affordable clinic.
Of course you can use the form suggested by @MahabubMunna for appealing, and having your review reinstated. Please be aware that the check may take up to two months. You will not receive any feedback from the team, but if they found that the review is adhering with the policies it will be reposted

Hi! Yes, exactly, I ended up deleting my review after trying everything. I changed the text, tweaked the wording, and did my best to adjust it, but nothing worked. In the end I just gave up and removed it. I saw that you mentioned there were only 16 reviews, but that can’t be right. When I check, I see he has 227 reviews and a rating of 4.6. It really feels strange that the only option is to resort to the other method and then wait for two months. There has to be something else that can be done, right?

And if it’s true, like you said, that others with only a few reviews got theirs approved, then it’s even more confusing why mine wasn’t accepted. Just to clarify, I was genuinely happy with my visit to that clinic. No one pushed me to write the review or influenced me in any way.

Well, @Sara2
The only method is to fill the form, and wait without touching the review after the appeal is sent.
In Google Maps there are 500 million contributors, so the check may take time

Hello everyone!
After a lot of trouble with the review, I have written a new one. Without any names, hyphens, or emojis. Despite this, it seems that it’s only visible to me. From what I understand, my only option now is to fill out the form?

@Sara2 , if it wasn’t posted again
