I am an anthropologist and I like to recommend the use of Google maps for our scientific work. It is a very useful tool to mark the places visited and the places that are not on the map, either in a private or public list. The “bird” look and also the street view help to remember and understand the dynamics of each place where research is carried out. The “digital age” needs social scientists to reflect and incorporate more popular tools such as maps in our work.
On the other hand, in my daily life I like to comment on the places I visit and qualify them so that other users can know more about the products or services offered.
Whether or not you are a social scientist, use google maps and you will be surprised with how useful it can be!
