Would you love watching the sunset while flying in the sky? I loved it a lot during Paragliding at Kamshet. Paragliding usually is considered as a safe sport provided it involves the trained pilot and standard equipment (and of course one’s health).
Tandom paragliding is usually guided by a trained instructor while solo Paragliding involves completion of multilevel training at certified Paragliding clubs. Paragliding can be done at as low as a few meters to upto 2500 meters or higher, standard level being 1200 meters otherwise.
Due to the thermic conditions of air and semi-arid climate best suited for Paragliding, Kamshet region has become the hot spot for paragliders in Maharashtra. Early morning and early evening views here makes Paragliding even more enjoyable.
Considering the closest option for Paragliding along with scenic views, I opted for Paragliding at [Kamshet Paragliding Adventure](http://kamshet%20paragliding adventure 086685 11928 https://maps.app.goo.gl/PUmHDkXnP2LduDYr6). I pre booked my slot for early evening along with two of my friends (Anomitra and Debomitra). The cost of tandem paragliding in 2019 was around Rs. 4000 excluding photo/video and transport to the take off site. We got the confirmation call a day before from them.
On the day of Paragliding, we reached the site after lunch and did a small hike to our take off point. Later we spent some time relaxing while watching the morning batch enjoy their Paragliding session. After the training session and small introduction, we started our Paragliding session. Unlike Skydiving, paragliding involves taking off along with the paraglide open which can be directed in different directions as per the wind conditions and can be taken up in the air.
The take off for Paragliding involves a small walk/run towards the end of the mountain before you actually fly in the air. Although in tandem option the pilot does that, it involves prior knowledge of the surrounding area. While my pilot took care of taking off, all I had to do was keep my legs off the ground to avoid any accident.
Of course we had a successful take off in the Kamshet skies! What a mesmerizing view it was. Since I opted for a late evening slot, I witnessed the beautiful sunset during my Paragliding session. What a peace! We could safely land at the same spot later. Me and my friends totally enjoyed this session and of course we celebrated it later that day.
There are multiple paragliding locations in India which have the best view for Paragliding. Few of the famous one’s apart from Kamshet are,

Some tips for tandem Paragliding-
-First of all, if you love adventure and you have time to go through a P1 certificate course, DO IT SOLO!
-Book your slot well before time but also check the weather conditions and good time to do it at respective locations.
-Check for a good Paragliding club with experienced pilots and also be informed about the take off and landing locations.
-Do not do over shopping for gliding gears but also do not feel false secure.
-Even though it is an easy sport, it involves the risk. So basic safety tips would help. For example, compact clothing, the quality of footwears required etc.
Have you done Paragliding? Do you want to do it? What was your experience? Is it not a safe and enjoyable sport?
