My March Visit to Haridwar

Hello Local Guides,
I recently had the wonderful opportunity to visit Haridwar in March and wanted to share some unique spots and experiences I encountered.
One striking landmark I noticed right away was the Haridwar Railway Clock Tower. Located conveniently between the railway ticket house and Platform 1, it’s hard to miss. This approximately 60-foot tall structure, painted in a distinctive pink and red, adds a touch of old-world charm to the bustling station. I managed to snap a photo of it from Platform 2, although the bottom portion was slightly hidden from my vantage point.

While at the railway station, I also observed a modern infrastructure project: a lavatory managed by RVNL (Rail Vikas Nigam Limited), a government PSU project. Sitlavatory managed by RVNL (Rail Vikas Nigam Limited), a government PSU project. Situated on Platform 1, this facility offers a clean and well-maintained option for travelers for a nominal entry fee of ₹10 per person. It’s great to see such initiatives contributing to a better travel experience.

Of course, no visit to Haridwar is complete without experiencing the spiritual heart of the city – the Ganga Ghat at Hari ki Pauri. The Ganga Aarti here is truly a mesmerizing and famous event. I had the privilege of witnessing this sacred ritual, taking photos to capture the vibrant atmosphere. I also took a dip in the holy Ganga Jal and performed puja, feeling a sense of peace and spiritual connection.

Beyond the iconic landmarks, I also explored some local food shops, savoring the authentic flavors of Haridwar. This vibrant aspect of the city adds to its overall charm.

From what I observed, Haridwar also seems to offer a peaceful environment for investment, although this was just a general impression from my visit.Hari ki pori

@TusharSuradkar Between 2013 and 2025, this religious place has seen many significant changes, making travel and facilities more accessible. During a recent visit to Haridwar, it was felt that the city has made a lot of progress in terms of traffic and infrastructure. Earlier, there used to be a problem of traffic jam from Patanjali Yogpeeth to Har Ki Pauri, but now the movement has become easier due to new flyovers and wide roads. The number of hotels, dharamshalas and restaurants has increased, giving more options to the travelers. Haridwar is now developing not only as a religious place but also as a well-organized tourist destination.
