My last trip to Hong Kong - part 2

Hey all!

It`s me again. After first article written about my trip to Hong Kong, I decided to write another one :innocent:

This time I will write something about my food experience :chopsticks:.

Hong Kong offers variety of food. You can food for every taste, from junk food, street food, to Vietnamese & Chinese cuisine and fancy restaurants. Price range of meals vary, from 7$ in junk restaurants like McDonalds to 10$-15$ in Vietnamese restaurants, rise up to 20$-30$ Chinese and Thai restaurants and fancy restaurants where bill around 100$ is nothing special. Addition to that be aware that many bakeries and local small stores 7 eleven) are open where you can eat for a couple of bucks. 7 eleven is almost on every corner and opened 24/7. The cheap option is also to find street food, for example Lamma island offers street food for only 1$ or 2$. If you want to get cheaper meal, try to visit financial district between 11am - 1pm since almost every restaurant offers lunch menus or happy hours deals. :bookmark:

Here are some restaurants I have visited with my review:

  1. Vietnamese restaurant PHO Nhat - A good value for your money :+1:

For 10$-15$ you get a proper meal - local soup, roastie chicken, pork or duck and local iceT or try coconut shake. The stuff is friendly only maybe some of them dont speak english well. Try to avoid crowdy hours - around lunchtime. At that time getting free table could be a problem. At the evening finding a free table shouldnt be a problem. To sum up: good food and cheap.

  1. The opposite of the restaurant above was the Thai restaurant Chachawan - High prices and low service :-1:

Our first dinner together. The stuff was unfriendly, waited too long for food. Expensive food and too small portions. The place itself is not on the price range they want to be. But however it was a nice evening anyway

  1. Catching happy hours in the financial district near big shopping mall Elements. - meal deals :clock11:

Many restaurants offer lunch menus for 10$-15$. A good choice for eating good at fair price. I`ve tried duck, pork and even kraft burger and all was delicious. Meals ordinary include: main dish, salad or soup and one cup of tea/coffee or glass of soft drink.

  1. Street food at Lamma island. - eat at nice sunny beach :sunglasses:

You should definitely visit the Lamma island, only 45 mins away from Hong Kong. It is a perfect place to enjoy sand beaches. There are many local street food providers where you can grab a meal for max 4$. We enjoyed in December`s sunny day.

  1. Wedding yacht celebration. - somewhere on the Hong Kong coast :smirk_cat:

There was plenty of good food

– more to come >> stay tuned!
