My Google Maps account status, contributions

Hi!

I’m a level 8 Google Maps contributor, with thousands of edits, hundreds to thousands of quality pictures added, and more.

My edits, locations added and pictures uploaded are seen by more than half a million people monthy.

From the beggining I was also focused on removal of duplicates and a series of obviously bad, offensive, harmful, or misleading locations, pictures, edits to Google Maps. As a regular editor I’ve helped marking and taking down hundreds of such locations, and hundreds of irrelevant or harmful photos and videos added to some locations. It looked to me that content in my area, my country was and is not moderated in any way. There were a lot of offensive/misleading locations and edits. I acted much like a shadow moderator, marking regularly all bad edits, pictures and locations and fighting them via GMaps tools accessible to regular editors.

But something happenned to my account status at a point in time, and many/most of contributions were pending in air, for long time, until they are expiring or rejected under unclear reasons. More recently I see that my edits are rejected almost automatically, or very quickly.

I even thought that this is done by a malfunctioning bot, or happens by some system error. For long time I’ve also edited Wikipedia, with a rich history of contributions, and based on habbits and politics from that platform, I can bring anytime there in GMaps sources for all of my edits too, but there does not exist such a feature to use. It’s very strange what happens: if previously I have had a ~95% of acceptance rate for my edits, and this was very quick, now it’s probably completely opposite, with only a few of my edits being approved, and the rest, the most of edits being stuck pending under review or quickly rejected without a valid reason! This is discouraging and I am disappointed, as a result I contribute less and less often, compared to few years ago.

I’d like to understand what is the problem and how this situation can be resolved.

سلام

این موضوع برای من هم اتفاق افتاده و واقعا عجیب و دلسرد کننده است

You can see here a clear example, of what happens. An obvious vandalism on Google Maps stays for very long time. Tried to edit it and bring back the correct name two times in a month, and my edits are rejected quickly, while the vandalised name is kept on. This is how Google fails to check for accuracy, check edits quality, fight vandalism, and rate the quality of contributions history on Maps.
