My Google Go: Fuel for your Hustle Campaign Experience

I was hired by Google as a digital marketer to campaign for a new app called ‘google go’. Our job was to introduce users and business owners to the app and encourage to use it frequently The campaign was tagged ‘Fuel for your Hustle’ and below was my experience.

Every day we leave for different venues within Lagos, Nigeria at about 7:30 am, and return back to resumption ground where everyone dispatches to their various homes.

We’d talked to android users who are not active on the internet on how the google go app saves data, and how they can use it.

The beginning of it all was fun, but as it went on it got harder, because I could no longer have time for my personal self, but I was encouraged by my team, which happened to be the best in the whole campaign, we looked out for each other, every now and then.

It was a street marketing so we’d talk to every store owner, individual and convince the to use the app, We worked each day as though it was the last day of the campaign.

Our supervisor also rewarded us haven seen our undivided dedication and the returns we made, he took us to a nearby restaurant and bought us lunch. Thanks Mr Val.

Heres my partner during the campaign, we worked together and ensured we achieved and most time exceeded our target, I was always exhausted due to the harsh weather, and he was always there to cover up for me. Thanks, Jason.

In between, Google held a masterclass with some of our top celebrities and motivational speaker, and hell let loose if I’d missed the event, I attended and I’d be lying if I say i didn’t learn the unexpected.

Though the event rounded up on the 31st of December, 2019 but I withdrew on the 20th as it was festive period and I have to spend time with my family.

The rest of the team went on, and they sure did magic.

Overall my experience was awesome because of the incredible team I worked with, Did I say that my team achieved highest target of all?

Yes, I had beautiful moments that I will always cherish, but not without the hardest part of the job as par convincing strangers to trust us in using their mobile phones to demonstrate how to use the Google app, but that’s what comes with a digital marketer. Enjoyed every bit of it.

I was visibly stressed, I dropped from 75 to 69 in my weight, and I started to look like I had only my head left, lol, My skin got darker, Yea, I know I’m already dark.

Now I’m gradually getting my body back, here’s recent photos of me.

Tik tok…

Welcome, @Ebiwali .

It sounds like you had a lot of fun. Did I understand correctly that you were hired to do marketing work on the streets to encourage people to use the light version of Google Maps?

It would be fun to learn a bit more about how excately you went about this.

All the best

Hi, @MortenCopenhagen @AdrianLunsong

Thanks for your comments, Yes we were hired by an agency to campaign for google, introduce and let android users know more of how the search engine works, and how they can use it frequently.

Actually the campaign has helped me alot too, I’m now enlightened on Google intentions towards helping users learn, make research very quickly and easily with all the necessary resources at their disposal in their mobile phones.

Yes @To_paul They are from Lagos.

Abuja is the capital of Nigeria now.

Lagos was former capital before it was moved to Abuja.

I don’t know why they are in a branded bus. I guess they went for marketing purposes @To_paul .

@Ebiwali can you help answer @To_paul questions because you’re in the better position to.

Thanks
