I had the chance of visiting the beautiful Nuremberg city during April 2019. I was attending a Technology Exhibition on Industrial Coatings in Messe, Nuremberg. I decided to stay in a youth hostel to have my first Backpacking experience in Europe.
I read the hostel reviews on Google map posted by the local guides in Nuremberg and decided to stay in the 5 Reasons Hostel. The hostel was excellent and was serving mainly solo and couple travellers along with the free breakfast during the morning hours.
The hostel was located in a busy road with beautiful old pavements with granite texture. There was an opera house which was located just opposite to the hostel. The reception staff was welcoming and were fluent in English language. The checkin process was quick and the staff gave me a tour of the facility. I was offered a bed space in an eight bunk bed room which was shared by 7 other tourists. My room was on the fourth floor. It was an exciting expereince to see all the people from different nationalities in the same room. The dormitory provided me a personal locker to keep my belongings. There was a reading table in the center of the room along with 4 chairs which were supposed to be shared by 4 people. The toilets and bathrooms were common for the users and were place in the third floor. I was surprised not to see any lock in the bathroom, that was my first experience of taking a bath with no lock in the bathroom.
The breakfast was served starting from 7:00 Am on the ground floor. There was a good variety in the food offered during the Breakfast and it tasted excellent, there were many juice options.
The subway station was very close to this place and it took hardly 3 to 4 minutes to reach the subway and the central station was at 6 to 7 minutes walk from the hostel. Eventhough the weather was very cold during that time period, but still I preferred walking through the Nuremberg Old town and appreciating its traditional wall structures which were eye soothing in my opinion.
Overall, i enjoyed my stay at this facility and would love to visit it again. There was a memory wall at the reception area which shared the beautiful pictures of the travellers who have stayed at this facility.
Majority of the locals which I met in the Nuremberg were speaking good English, the signboards were in both German and English language. I wish you will enjoy your stay in the beautiful Nuremberg city.
P.S: look for Hostels/Hotels near the main railway station, you will find many food restaurants near that place.
Yes, it’s possible for you to get the bed space shared by only ladies in the room. While reserving a booking through the booking website make sure you select the option “Women only”.
I am a Level 7 guide with 8000 points. From the past few days my points are decreasing to now 6900. Since you are an expert could you please help. Unfortunately I am unable to get in touch with Google.
