My favourite Accessible place : Southwark Pavillion Cafe, London

As part of our advocacy, #OneAccesibility, we will share information about differently able and profile one location with accessible trails. Look out every week for this enlightening post.

Being a Local Guide and an accessibility enthusiast, I always love exploring places and putting accessibility information on Maps. There are many tourist attractions , restaurants and parks in London which are accessible. But, my favorite accessible place is Southwark Park Pavilion Cafe in London. The main reason for this place being my favourite is that It’s very near to my home and is my go-to place to enjoy quality family time ! The place is fully accessible and is pet and kid friendly with amazing views !

Situated inside the Southwark Park, this Café has a lake to the west, a nearby cricket oval to the southeast and the neighbouring building of the Southwark Park Galleries to the northeast. All the three sides of the Café offer seating surrounded by lush greenery on two sides and lake view on another side which makes one enjoy food in the vicinity of nature ! They serve amazing food and authentic dishes including full English breakfasts, freshly baked pizzas, variety of ice-creams, healthy sandwiches and salads, brewed hot drinks and even cold beverages. The Gallo counter inside serves some of the best ice-cream flavour combos like peanut butter,lemon-banana , strawberry-caramel, coffee-ferrero rocher, nutella-passion fruit , etc. They also have seasonal specials. If you enjoy ice-creams and wish to know about Unique Gelato spots in London , do read the post on Connect. They offer click and collect and takeaway currently which you can enjoy by sitting at their spaced outdoor seating(yes, enjoy a lake view or a lush greenery view with a cricket ground where you can enjoy having food or your coffee while you watch a live cricket match ! ) Everyone across ages can spend a good time there . The Café is dog-friendly and Dogs are allowed inside but must be kept on a lead at all times.

The Café is fully accessible with accessible entrance , accessible toilet and accessible seating area (both indoors and outdoors). They have diaper changing facilities in all the toilets. Even the Café from inside has seating in such a manner that a wheelchair person or a stroller can easily pass, making the Café accessible inside too.

Is there a fully accessible Café near you where you can go and enjoy some quality peaceful time in the serenity of nature ? Do let me know in the comments below!
