Hi everyone! I’m Asheebashraf from Kannur, Kerala.
My favorite place I’ve reviewed on Maps is not just a place, it’s a feeling — Evening at Payyambalam Beach with Kallumakkaya ("Stuffed / Fried Mussels).& Kattan Chaya.( Black Tea)
If you are in Kannur, you know this vibe. After a long walk on the clean, peaceful Payyambalam beach, sitting on the sand with a plate of hot, spicy Kallumakkaya (mussels) fry and a strong Kattan Chaya (black tea) from the nearby thattukada is heaven!
Why I love to review this spot on Maps:
I love to explore and add these small local food spots around the beach. That small shop may not be on Maps, but for us locals, that taste is everything. The beach is beautiful, but the food makes the memory complete.
In my review, I shared about the best time to visit for sunset (around 5:30 PM) and where to get the best kallumakkaya fry.
For me, Local Guides is not just about big places, it’s about sharing our local culture. And for a Kannurian, Kattan Chaya and Kallumakkaya is our culture!
What is your favorite beach food combo?
Have you tried Kallumakkaya in Kannur?
