I like Japanese dishes a lot, even if it is simple and very small daily dishes, it has different taste.
I cannot enumerate all of restaurants that I visited, so I just post some of them I still recall the location. The crab and tofu restaurant that I added are strongly recommended by my friend, except these two I visit all other restaurants whenever I am around there.
Hakata AkaChokobe in Fukuoka is the best Udon I’ve ever had. It seems it is the one of first Undon yas in Japan and invented Undon for the monks.
YunoTakeAn It was recommended by tourist info center and it was very good. It is located inside of park, and seems that it has been there for a long time. Great staff and great food, however it is pretty pricey.
Hippari Dako A small local restaurant around the corner of the town. When I was staying in Nikko, I went here everyday to taste different dishes. The ladies remembered me everyday and they were super friendly and nice. Food was also nice, of course.
Ginrei Restaurant in Nagasaki Museum of History Small restaurant with exotic 1930’s style atmosphere. I cannot tell it is great restaurant but still impressive restaurant for me with super friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Food is quite nice too but I liked more the fresh juice there.
Thank you for sharing these great locations with us. I’ve never been to Japan, but it’s definitely on my to-do list.
All your photos are amazing, and the food looks very delicious. As a huge foodie and Asian cuisine lover, I’m sure that I will fall in love with every single dish you presented.
Unfortunately, apart of sushi, ramen and miso soup, I don’t know that much about Japanese food. Which one of the plates that you presented would you recommend a beginner to start with?
@BorrisS Well, I cannot enumerate all dishes of that I love, but you will see when you visit Japan how many different dishes are there. When I was kid, I used to like yakisoba, ramen, oden(very white one on the wood panel, fine fish paste), mozzi, takoyaki, etc. Those are just snacks. But Wagyu is quite well-known Japanese beef which are great. Seafood are super great. Many kinds of Nabe are also great. Just go there and discover and explore the dishes there, you will love them even street food.
Hey @KIM19 , nice post, thanks for sharing with us and thank you @BorrisS for tagging. I have tried all of these dishes but I have never been to the restaurants.
I had the opportunity to lived in Japan and I didn’t have a single bad meal there. One of my favorite is ramen - wheat noodle soup. The soup is usually made of chicken broth but often contains other types of meat such as pork, beef or fish depending on the region. It usually also contains hard-boiled egg and different vegetables, such as onion, mushrooms, bean sprouts, seaweed and corn.
