I had the incredible opportunity to attend Connect Live Bangalore on September 18-19, 2025. It was an amazing event, and I was particularly impressed by how the entire experience was thoughtfully centered around the theme of sustainability. Every single detail, from the moment I arrived to the moment I left, reinforced this important message.
An Eco-Friendly Welcome
The focus on sustainability began before I even reached the venue. When I arrived at the airport, I chose to share a cab with another Local Guide, which was a great way to kick off the event in an eco-friendly way. Not only did we reduce our carbon footprint, but we also got to know each other and share our excitement for the event. I also shared a ride back to the airport, which once again highlighted the easy choices we can make to be more sustainable in our daily lives.
Sustainable Gifts and Green Initiatives
At the Google office, the commitment to sustainability was clear. We were welcomed by a row of G-Bikes, a strong visual reminder of sustainable commuting. A standout moment was the “Leave One, Take One” gift exchange. We received a paper bag made from sustainably sourced paper, a subtle but powerful detail. The gifts exchanged were also incredibly thoughtful and eco-conscious, with many Local Guides bringing sustainable items like a jute bag, a handmade keyring, and recycled wooden bookmarks. I brought a Tulsi Mala, a beautiful and sustainable gift made from a plant that grows easily in India.
Small Details, Big Impact
The sustainability theme continued throughout the event. On the morning of September 19, we were all given a sustainable notepad made from recycled materials. This small gift was a great reminder that even little choices can have a positive impact. The event concluded with a cloth bag as a parting gift, reinforcing the importance of reusable items and continuing to practice eco-friendly habits.
Connect Live Bangalore was more than just a networking event—it was a masterclass in how to integrate sustainable practices into our lives. From cab sharing to gift exchanges, and from paper bags to eco-friendly stationery, every detail showed me that small steps can lead to a greener tomorrow. It was a truly inspiring and memorable experience.
To add to all this experience we had an amazing early dinner both days with freshly cooked meals and use of sustainability through crockery. Food was absolutely delicious 
and innovative. 6 of us including @Latika_Malhotra enjoyed a wonderful time and soon we left for the day.
