My brother love review foods at gmap but cant to join Local guide due to unknown error

He went to URL https://maps.google.com/localguides , fill the details and click SIGN UP. One pop up shows for one sec and then it disappears. The website showed him sign up form again (no error message and all). No matters how many times he clicks SIGN UP, he gets same result. He has tried from different browsers and from his mobile. Everywhere he gets same behaviour.

He also came to this forum https://www.localguidesconnect.com/ and tried to SIGN UP, it showed him this message: erroruserbanned: Local Guides Connect is reserved for Local Guides program participants. You cannot access Local Guides Connect as your Local Guides account has been suspended.

We are not sure why he has been banned as he has never signed up. At least Google can show some meaningful error message so that we can take appropriate action.

How old is your brother?

Local guides program is available only to 18 + Local Guides. If your brother is younger, it will not be possible for him to join the program now

The message from Connect is probably normal, as a user that is not a Local Guide cannot sign in on Connect, BTW the message is quite strange.

Are you sure your brother has never been a Local Guide?

In order your brother to receive more information about what exactly what is happening with his account, I suggest to mention @localguides on Twitter or write a comment on our Facebook page letting us know he has been banned. Because here we cannot investigate his account due to privacy concerns.

I will delete his Google Maps URL from your previous comment. I hope you find these suggestions useful.
