My Address not on Google maps

How do I add my address and post code to Maps ? (Regatta Road CM08FZ) My house is a new build and you can see it on maps but without its roof (house now finished and I’m living in it) and if you do a search for it on Google maps it is not found. See screen shot below.

Hi @John-Kill - you need to visit the map, navigate to that location in the Maps app (on Android) and then hold down your finger on an empty space to “report a problem at this location”, this will bring up the option to add missing roads.

You should then be able to draw on the roads in question, give them names and see them appear on the map once approved. It should default to the satellite image to allow you to trace routes accurately.

It can sometimes work better if you click an existing stretch of road next to where you want to add the new one as sometimes the options don’t always appear.

In addition to this you probably need to remove the marker for “Regatta Rd”.

Hi @John-Kill

Fortunately all the new roads (or most of them) are very well visible on satellite view.

This give you an extraordinary opportunity to add the missing roads, drawing the roads on the maps. If you are on Android, you can do much more than simply Report an error on the map , you can “add and draw a missing road

As the Road are very well visible, the approval will be quite fast.

Once the road is approved, on a second step you can fix the address, completing the set of information needed

Hello @John-Kill
First, you are giving away your house location. That’s compromising your privacy & hence incorrect.
Second, if your house is a part of some gated community, then let the creator/owner contact Google Maps team & have the portion updated.
However, if that’s your private house, then regret, we can’t suggest an edit to include a private home.
Nevertheless, you can mark the home position on the Map in saved places & then share with anyone when the need arises.
Further, as recommended, you can always suggest the creation of roads through the help & feedback option.

@ErmesT - I’d totally forgotten about the more sensible way to add roads now, thanks for the reminder :slightly_smiling_face:
