Must-Eat! Black Throat Seaperch in Kanazawa, Japan

Have you ever heard of the word Nodoguro (black throat sea perch) in Japanese? You may think that you can have fresh fish everywhere in Japan. And the answer is usually yes, but when it comes to Nodoguro, you may better visit Kanazawa, Japan.

Even I hardly have Nodoguro, but I really wanted to have this fish in Kanazawa. And here I go! I found a restaurant (nodoguro meshi Itaru) that is specialized in this fish and dish. When I tried to make a reservation, the available time was only from 5 PM or 6 PM. So, I chose it at 6 PM. So, if you want to try this spot, it’s better to make a reservation in advance.

The food was really really delicious and when you have this dish, there are 3 ways to eat.

1. Eat it itself

2. With condiment (green onion, sesame…)

3. With the black throat sea perch broth!!

I really liked the last flavor.

Black throat sea perch was soft/tender and light good taste as this is white fish. I hope you can visit Kanazawa to have this fish/dish!!

This is a really nice post @Annachan16 I have enjoyed black throat at Kanazawa Maimon and in Niigata. Another great place when offered is Sushi Dokoro Matsuno. Here you can also enjoy a very original Kanazawa dining experience. Thank you for sharing and look forward to enjoying more of your posts.
