The National Railway Museum in Delhi is a unique and huge collection of railway engines, bogies, wagons, miniatures, and railway-related accessories from numberplates and valves to signals and also a fun ride in a mini-train.
The museum is spread over a huge area so I went there prepared to talk a long stroll and the ambiance is great. There are well-paved paths and the outdoors are due to a lot of large trees. Railway engines from steam to Diesel and electric ones are exhibited in the outdoor display.
The Rail Boulevard exhibits locomotives from famous companies like PSMT and BB & CI.
The office of the director of the museum is also located in a real rail compartment. There is also a miniature railway track with miniature trains that work and move around continuously over the track over bridges and through mini tunnels.
There are also a lot of benches places at several places for those who want to take a rest during the long walk.
The indoor exhibit has a wide range of models of engines and compartments, the history of the Indian Rail, the scale model of the first railway engine called the тАШRocketтАЩ, besides the scale model of a bullet train.
Another section of the museum displays the railway braking system, an interactive railway quiz game, valves, and number plates of various railway engines.
There is also a mini-train joy ride where the train runs every 30 minutes. This can be found close to the area called Museum Junction.
Besides that, there is a musical fountain with a light-and-sound show that has an elaborate seating arrangement.
There is also a souvenir shop to purchase railway caps, mugs, keychains, paper folding trains, and scale models.
There is a huge cafeteria that has extensive seating arrangement and the outdoor seating has amusing themes like a chessboard and ludo board.
Have you been to a museum dedicated to just one object?

Until thenтАж Happy Guiding
