I visited Munnar in 2019 - 7 March to 11 March 2019. March and April is best time of the year to visit Munnar. The weather is pleasant with temperature varying from 15° to 25° C with clear skies. The tea plantations can be seen for miles here and they look extremely beautiful at this time of the year.
Major tourist attractions: Tata Tea Factory and Museum, Sita Devi Lake, Mattupetty Dam, Kundala Lake and Echo Point, Athirappilly Falls (Near Cochin)
Sita Devi Lake is the most fascinating place I found in Munnar. It is one of the most beautiful sights and is totally divine. It is near Club Mahindra, but unfortunately, not many people are aware of this place which makes it a hidden secret.
If you visit Munnar, this is the #1 Must Visit place. In the morning around 6 am, the lake is filled with many many animals including Wild Elephants that come for water. If you visit during the morning hours, don’t forget to take a local guide or someone who knows the place, going alone is risky because of the animals.
Places to stay: Club Mahindra Munnar, Sterling Resort Munnar
Things to keep in mind: You can take a Flight to Cochin and then travel by road (~150 kms) to reach Munnar. The road route is hilly and takes four to five hours to cover the distance. Travelling in the night is not advisable.
Let’s discuss in the comments below more places to visit in Munnar, if I missed any, and don’t forget to like this post.
