Bengal is known for it’s sweets. The “Rosogolla” is world famous. Barasat is no exceptions. I am trying to list five sweet shops of Barasat and their specialty. Don’t miss them when you visit Barasat:
-
Radha Mistanna Bhandar: Located on Jessore road Dakshin Para More bus stop. The ladykenny is unparallel in this shop over 100 years. Many iconic figures including Uttam Kumar has visited this shop.
-
Asesh Sweets: Located near Hridaypur Railway station. Very popular all over West Bengal. Most of sweets are great taste. However, my recommendation for this iconic shop is for Rosogolla and Kalakaand.
-
Mouchak: Mouchak is started vert humbly in the middle of 1980s opposite Chayabani cinema hall near Barasat police station. Now it is household name in Barasat. They expanded and open restaurants, hotels, but the original shop is still the sweet shop. I will recommend Icecream Sandesh and Singara.
-
Jyoti sweets: Jyoti sweets have many branches all over Barasat. They are in expanding mode. However, the oldest one is probably located near Champadali more. Again the sweets are high quality, but my recommendation is Lord chumchum.
-
Misti Mahal: Located at Duckbunglow more. If you come to Barasat taste the sweet card from Misti Mahal.
We love sweets.
