Jian Long ridge(劍龍稜) locate at the Northern coastline of Taiwan and nearby Jioufen(九份), a lovely small town. The reason why this ridge called Jian Long(劍龍), which means Stegosaurus, is because the ridge is composed of a continuous sharp ridge. It makes climber feel like climbing on the plates of Stegosaurus. On the ridge, you can enjoy the view of Northern coastline and hills beside the ocean.
Here is not too far from Taipei. If you live in Taipei and you want to take the adventure during the weekend. Here is a good place.
Start from 南雅, this route takes 7~9 hours to arrive 勸濟堂 at 金瓜石
But, beware of the weather and pay attention every time, outdoor activities could be dangerous if you don’t prepare enough.
Take Keelung Bus line 791 from bus station 基隆火車站(仁祥診所) to 南新宮
The entrance of climbing route is behind the community.
Arrive in 勸濟堂, you can take Keelung Bus line 1062 back to Taipei Metro 忠孝復興 station directly.
Or, if you still have energy after this adventure. Having dinner at 九份 is also a good option.
