Most interesting thing I've done as a Local Guide: Helping visitors to explore Poovar Island, India

Let me Introduce about myself. I am Davidson Sargunam, a 7th grade local guide from the southern tip of India. I am very much interested in travelling and exploring places.

As a tourism promoter and wildlife photographer, I travel widely in three Southern Indian States and in India. As a student of folklore, public relations and mass communication, sharing my experience with others and answering the questions of others is a pleasure in helping and guiding others.

As a widely traveled person, many ask us to link the tourism operators in other places and for travel, I ask the friends to use Google Maps to easily trace and spot the places. I have tie-ups with other operators I and easily link them through the Google Maps. Many Europeans connect with me to see elephants and other animals in the wild and I help them by visiting Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, Bandipur Tiger Reserve and Wyanad Wildlife Sanctuary in India.

As a person interested in travelling, I have visited many places in India. Many people contact me as I am a tourism promoter and when they contact me by checking Google Map, I explained to them about the places. Many visitors have checked the reviews in Google also, and they need guidance from me. Some want my presence to guide them and as a Local Gide and I have taken interested persons to the places of their interest.

While travelling the visitor check the route maps in Google for guidance in addition to my guidance.

For instance, groups of people want to visit Poovar Backwaters ride in Kerala and specifically asked for Kingfisher Boat club, by checking Google.

I have guided these groups and they enjoyed the boat ride. The visitors could see variety of birds during the ride, enjoy seeing the tall coconut fringes, visit the seacoast, enjoy the fish food and enjoy the surf-beaten waves in the Arabian Sea and the food culture of Kerala.

I strongly feel this is one of the most interesting activities I have done as a Local Guide, only because of Google.
