__Biggest Mosque with traditional Maghrebin architecture in Algeria
The Emir Abdelkader Mosque (Arabic: مسجد الأمير عبد القادر), is an Algerian mosque located in Constantine, in the western part of Belle Vue.
The building has a large dome that rises to 64 meters, and all is dominated by minarets 107 meters.
Also, a women’s prayer hall adjoins the main hall, as it separates the male and female spaces in Muslim places of worship. the mosque has all around a central patio. which gives us a capacity of 15,000 faithful for the two prayer rooms.
noted that the mihrab of the women’s prayer room. Its upper part was carved on the spot in a single block of marble which is impressive considering its imposing size.
In the same set, on the other west facade, is the Islamic University. This university consists of three levels. On the ground floor, the central space is occupied by the large conference room above which is the courtyard with its large pool, surrounded by large corridors in the form of glazed arcades.
The Mosque can be easily reached via the Tramway line, which has a station just near the main entrance of the University in its west side, Also its open for public during the day, even outside to prior time.
