Hello Everyone and Google Team,
I would like to submit a proposal regarding the reward structure of the Local Guides program.
As Local Guides, we invest a significant amount of time, effort, and resources into keeping Google Maps accurate, up-to-date, and helpful. We take high-quality photos, write detailed reviews, and verify local data, which adds immense value to the platform and helps millions of users daily.
While the current perks (like occasional discounts or early access to features) are appreciated, I believe that high-level, high-quality contributions deserve more tangible recognition. I propose introducing a monetary compensation model or a financial rewards system for top-tier Local Guides who consistently deliver verified, high-value content.
This could be implemented through a revenue-sharing model from local ad revenue, direct micro-payments per verified edit/review, or a monthly stipend for the most active community leaders in each region. A financial incentive would not only reward dedication but also motivate guides to perform even deeper, higher-quality research in their local areas.
Thank you for considering this idea to empower and fairly reward the Local Guides community!
