Momo can be considered as Nepal’s national food. It is a Nepalese version of Chinese dumplings. It is made with stemmed ground meat wrapped around the flour served with tomato sauce. This Nepalese art can be found anywhere and everywhere in Kathmandu. You can find this dish in every restaurant you can find in Nepal and you can find restaurants in every ten minutes.
I am currently in United States. I have been and was drooling over MoMo for almost 2 years and MoMo made inside the United States in some Nepalese restaurant was good but would not satisfy my thirst. Therefore, I paid a visit to many MoMo stations whenever I pay a visit to Nepal. These are some pictures that I could share on my visit there.
Coming to Nepal, I could explore even more MoMo stations. In fact, people’s creativity over that small ingredient was phenomenal. I would never imagine there would be chocolate MoMo or Khuwa (Dried milk) MoMo. On top of that, these dishes were perfectly created, and I highly recommend these dishes.
Lastly, MoMo’s are not exactly dumplings, though I presume they were mutated from dumplings. This dish is what I could live with. A combination of sauce with those stemmed grounded meat covered with flour is the best thing that happened to me. I want all other people in the world to try it. In fact, Visit Nepal and try there, it would be a memory you would not forget.
