I went to Mokosh Beel to escape the busy and boring city life. It is a beautiful tourist spot in Kaliakoir, Gazipur. We rented an engine boat for 700 taka per hour. There were 6 of us. When we started the boat ride, the sunlight was getting softer. Standing on the roof of the boat, we enjoyed the calm water and the peaceful, beautiful natural surroundings. It was a very special feeling. Mokosh Beel is 54 km from Mirpur, Dhaka. From Gazipur Chourasta, there are two routes to reach it — one via Masterbari (27 km) and another via Chandra (29 km). We went through Masterbari. You can take any bus from Dhaka to Masterbari, then ride a battery-run rickshaw to reach the beel. The road is fairly good.

Many travel lovers visit this place, especially on weekends like Friday and Saturday. Boat rent can be a bit high, but if you bargain, you may get it for less.
Though the journey from Dhaka might feel a bit tiring, the beautiful and peaceful scenery of Mokosh Beel will surely make it worth it.
