On October 8th I reached level 6 with 1500 points (I even received an email congratulating me on the achievement). Today I observe and have only 649 points and I returned to level 6 with the loss of 851 points. I did not break any rules, I always scored honestly and did not receive any notice or reason for the reduction of level and points. Has there been a change in scoring policy?

I m really sorry that you are getting inconvenience by Points decreasing issue.
What I can understand, I will try to explain you which I learn from my senior mentor @ErmesT
In point decreasing problem, it can be technical issue, but there are some common reasons, which I want to share with you.
1) Answer removal: Points can drop depending of your setting for Google’s My Activity . Please read: How do I delete my answers to questions on Google Maps?
2) If on My Activity your setting is different from this one here below, your answer are automatically deleted on a frame window
Points may be also decrease if your contribution is determined to be in violation of the content policy. Contributions that violate our policies do not count toward your Local Guides level.
For further assistance I would like to tag @ErmesT again, may be he can add some more new information and we can get success to resolve your issue.

In this specific case, @MarceloHunter , I can see that you have several reviews on the review tab on your profile, but the number shown is zero.
This kind of like issue, probably caused by a database misalignment, is usually self solving in a few days.
Just keep your profile under control, and please let us know the status of your issue on a couple of days

Where is my reviews badge? I have over 100 reviews and 1000 photos. Where is my review badge? Why does it say im not even a novice reviewer?

BTW, your issue should be self solved in a very short time, as the discrepancy between the total amount of reviews (zero) and the visible reviews
I was almost on 21,000 points yesterday. When I uploaded today’s review, I am down a level to 7 and at 14,998 points. I don’t know why? All my reviews are long, legitimate and full of photos? @MashaPS

Hello @JackieMcMillan , do you often answer questions about places on Map? In that case please check this Helpdesk post, as it might explain what has happened: if you have autodelete on in My Activity, points will indeed disappear.

In that case @JackieMcMillan they might not really be lost. In the last few weeks I have seen multiple stories like yours that seem linked to reviews, and those seem to be similar to what was happening with photos a while ago: due to a problem in the Google backend, some counters were going up & down all the time. But after a while (several weeks, though) things returned to normal. So for now I would advise: wait and see for a while.
