Meherabad- a place that touches your soul.

About 20 km from the town of Ahmednagar in the western part of India is where Meherabad is situated. Yes, it is a pilgrim centre, yes, it is where Avatar Meher Baba lived and where his devotees flock every year, yes, it is a place of serenity. But what I love about it is the architecture, the design, the sustainable message that the structures send. Designed by Ted Judson using local materials, brick, a minimum of concrete and making the most of reusable material, the structures at Meherabad are as beautiful as they are humble. Our study tour by WIDE Angle Forum had been there in 2019 and we were astonished to see the dedication and love with which all of this entire area has been maintained immaculately. One can see the lovely Memorial tower too, which is a symbol of the teachings of this saint who lived here, and who spent almost his entire last thirty years in silence. Equally magnificent is the MPR- Meher Pilgrim Retreat, which gives you a tremendous sense of humility. You can visit the resting place of Meher Baba where the peace, the quiet literally makes you a different person.
