Twelve Meetups Around The World :
15th July was the Third Anniversary of Local Guides Connect (#LGC) , The forum which is spreading a lot of knowledge from the past three years, not just about the Local Guides Program but every field of life Specially Google Maps, Traveling, Food, Photography and dozens of other topics.
So this year we decided to celebrate the #LGC anniversary in #LocalGuides style homage.
We posted a call for #AnniversaryCelebrations meetups and had overwhelming response from many parts of the world. And remarkable support from Google, Google Moderators , Connect Moderators and Fellow Local guides.
There were many meetups for Celebration including Accessibility walk, Photo walk, Local Guides meetups and Environmental Meetups in it.
Let’s summarize all of them :
For #LGC #AnniversayCelebrations, there were seventeen meetups posted from Six Countries.
Luckily we saw Twelve of them completed , and Five of them couldn’t organized due to some last moment changes in plans.
But still it was a great achievement for us, because we got Seven new Meetup Leaders along with Five experienced Local Guides, and the best part, now they are continuing their new meetup hosting, because they enjoyed to be meetup leaders.
In these meetups we saw Accessibility, Map editing and photo walks by @PaulPavlinovich , @PennyChristie , @OmerAli , @SaifIS @SimonAndrews , @mumtazibrahim @shakilahmad46 and @Ramzan_bashir. Local Guides meetups by @JaneBurunina @nabeeltirmazi and @linktoaslam and along these meetups we saw environmental meetups by @Danish_Raza and @kashifmisidia
So many initiatives for one call. In one meetup local guides were doing a walk for a noble cause in Australia, another side of Europe and south asia local guides gather to share knowledge by each other, and in one side of East Asia local guides walking and capturing the beauty of the city in their camera.
That’s the beauty of Local Guides Program and Local Guides Connect.
We also launched specialized GIF stickers for Instagram/Snapchat featuring #LGC #AnniversaryCelebrations and included them in our stories throughout the month Thank to @omerali , not just for GIFs but overall for LGC Anniversary Celebration Meetups , it couldn’t be possible without help of my Dear Brother Omer Ali Bhai.
