The “Local Guides of Risaralda” did today on May 6, the first session of practice and a short walking tour in the city of Pereira to explore some places.
For many years, Pereira was known as a purely commercial city. Moreover, it was always associated with prostitution and narco-trafficking. Today “La Perla del Otún” (The Otún’s Pearl) or the “City with No Doors” (as Pereira is now nicknamed), is living a renaissance! Promoted as a city of entrepreneurs – creative, social, and civic – where culture, art and society merge to provide spaces that allow visitors and habitants alike to come together and enjoy a place that has reinvented itself around the coffee culture and modernity; where indulging in an exquisite coffee, talking to the neighbors, and discovering its most fascinating corners are now possible.
