Measuring a place on Google Maps 🗺️

This is a very nice feature of Google Maps through which you can measure & calculate distance and square feet almost accurately :beating_heart::world_map::railway_track:

@Masudbd semoga saya bisa mencoba saya pelajarin dulu ya makasih

@Masudbd

Would you be able to explain how you do this? Does it work across all 3 platform: Android, iOS and Computers?

In Android. Sir @MortenCopenhagen

Yes you can try . :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: @TitikMariati

Hello @Masudbd, I’m a bit confused here. You spoke about calculating square feet, then showed us a function to measure distance. Am I missing a detail?

@MortenCopenhagen It has always been possible to measure the road distance on the computer, but I’m only seeing this straight-line distance between two points on my Android.

My question was intended to give readers some insight into how we use this feature. I have used the distance tool before, but not the tool to measure the size of an area. Or maybe we should dig up the relevant help pages.

Here is the help page regarding measuring distances on Google Maps on 3 platforms: Computer, Android, and iPhone & iPad (select the relevant tab at the top of the page).

I also found a help page on measuring areas in Google Earth:

@Masudbd, did you use Google Earth? Or did you only measure lengths and do the multiplication manually?

Or maybe Google Maps is rolling out a new measure areas tool.

Saya belum pernah mencobanya @Masudbd

What I mean by square feet is that when you measure a space, you measure the length and width once, and you multiply them together to get the area.What I mean by square feet is that when you measure a space, you measure the length and width once, and you multiply them together to get the area. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

@tony_b

I manually calculated the square footage, except for the square footage. That’s what I meant.I manually calculated the square feet. That’s what I meant. Here we measure the length and width separately. :world_map::beating_heart:

@MortenCopenhagen

Thanks for clarifying this.

Keep posting on Connect.

All the best

Yes, quite correct. That’s what I’d do too @Masudbd. Your photo only showed the distance measurement, so I was puzzled. We understand each other now.
