Ramadan Kareem,

To welcome Ramadan in 2026, I would like to present a Special Ramadan Feature: Islamic Heritage & Mosques - MCECC & Al Madinah Mosque, located in San Antonio, Texas. MCECC stands for Muslin Children Education and Civic Center - https://www.mcecc.com/

This Inspiring Ramadan was initiated by @SoniaK, @doc_dells, @MahabubMunna, and @KashifMisidia. Thank you for giving me a chance to present this special Mosque we visited during my in-person meetup to meet other Local Guides in exploringTexas.

The mosque stands in a big property complete with big gazebos for outdoor activities, such as a wedding venue, etc., and a playground for children. The whole area is very wheelchair friendly. Restrooms for women and men are separated same as the entrance to the Mosque. One of their services is funeral preparation, where one place is dedicated to washing the body for proper funeral procedure. The wudhu (washing) room and the bathroom are accessible.

The prayer room for women provides prayer robes (clothes) to be used for whoever needs them, and it is separated from the men’s room.

The prayer schedule is also available online.

Some of their activities:

Guiding New Muslim

Funeral Services

Marriage Ceremony

Free Charity Community Clinic

Zakat Assistant

Dua Request

Saturday/Sunday School

Some of the Events:

Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month: Afternoon Halaqa (Sisters Only)

Thursday after Maghreb & Friday after Fajr Tajweed classes

Weekly Friday Halaqa after Isha

Weekly Saturday Revert Classes

The parking lot is huge and can accommodate many cars

Sadly, that day, there is a funeral in session. May his soul rest in peace

I hope Allah grants us more rewards for the month of Ramadan. Happy Fasting, my fellow Local Guides who celebrate. Here is my review:

Mbak @Erna_LaBeau this is superb! Thank you for featuring the MCECC & Al Madinah Mosque for our #InspiringRamadan26Mosque #CIRCLE initiative.
I’m really impressed by the services they offer, especially the free community clinic. It’s wonderful to see healthcare support so well-integrated into a community hub. Your detailed notes on accessibility, like the wheelchair-friendly wudhu rooms and grounds are also incredibly helpful for the community.
If you haven’t had the chance yet, please consider sharing these details as a review on Google Maps as well. I know other users would truly appreciate finding such helpful information there!
Thanks again for sharing your visit to Texas with us!

RAMADAN MUBARAK, hugs from :indonesia:

Ramadan Mubarak @Erna_LaBeau and @keithlabeau :handshake:

The mosque looks fabulous and is spread over a huge sprawl.
Comparatively, most mosques in India are in the old part of the city and often congested.

So this view is a nice relief.

Thank you @GasparKaren and the most important is who we are with. I met another Local Guides on my in-person meetup in Texas. He is so kind to take us to this Mosque, he himself even entered the Mosque and see people do pray.

This sits in a nice land with big parking lots and 2 big gazebos. I am so happy that Ray Lewis @mrlewis-lg_10 take us to this place, @TusharSuradkar

Dek @inadwiana, the religion grows so fast here. One of these days I would like to highlight a beautiful mosque which previously used as church. When come to Ied, all mosques do not enough place to accommodate people, some ended up praying on the street, park couple blocks away. Thank you for stopping by

This is such a wonderful post, @Erna_LaBeau
I am so impressed seeing such a wonderful mosque in the middle of San Antonio. This is superb. A guiding session for new Muslims, free community clinic, halaqa sessions for sister’s only, these are really impressive. I’m glad you had a good time there. Thank you for sharing this beautiful mosque and it’s services with us.
So good to see Ray after so long. Hope he is doing well.
