Maps, Movie and Me- at Khidrapur Maharashtra

#3MChallange
@MerlinThomas . Thanks for this lovely challenge.
@shaileno
For your temple design challenge.
You must be familiar with the Marathi film Katyar Kaljat Ghusli, in which Shankar Mahadevan and Sachin Pilgaonkar have sung a song that was filmed at this temple.
The specialty of this temple is that it falls under the jurisdiction of the Archaeological Department. With its exquisitely intricate architecture, this temple attracts even foreign tourists.
Located about 11 kilometers from Narsobawadi, this site can be seen while passing through a truly scenic and serene natural setting.

The village of Khidrapur is surrounded by a river on three sides, and as a result, this temple has often been submerged under water, causing some damage. However, the area remains extremely peaceful and serene.
The carvings on the temple depict stories from the time of the Pandavas.
This temple is exquisitely crafted with intricate detailing.
You can also spot many sparrows here, which are easily visible.
You should definitely visit this site.

This is temple of God shankar.

There is big story of this temple. The pillars of this temple were brought from Kolhapur by floating them through the river water. At the entrance of the temple, there is a circular assembly hall (Sabhamandap) which is open from all sides and is extremely beautiful. Each pillar of this temple depicts a different story. It is located in a very simple village, and this Shiva temple holds great spiritual significance.
When the marriage of Parvati and Shiva was about to take place, King Daksha did not approve of it. As a result, Sati (Parvati) left, and the enraged Shiva searched for a place to calm himself — hence the name of the temple: Kopeshwar (meaning ‘Angry God’). Another unique feature is that in most Shiva temples, Nandi (the sacred bull) is always present, but in this temple, there is no Nandi.so when you plan to visit Maharashtra add this temple in your bucket list.

The village is naturally surrounded by rivers on three sides and the temple is standing in its natural form even after being in the middle of the river flood, so one can only imagine how clean, pure and peaceful the village and the temple would be.
Thank you very much for sharing the amazing form of the temple with us @Supriyadevkar ji :folded_hands::folded_hands:

@Supriyadevkar Wow! Your entry truly captured the spirit of #3MChallenge, mixing travel and cinema. Thanks a lot!

Thank you for sharing this wonderful glimpse of the Khidrapur temple! @Supriyadevkar ji

You have challenge through a single post. Temple challenge by @shaileno ji and 3M Challenge by @MerlinThomas

The connection to Marathi culture and the famous Katyar Kaljat Ghusli song makes it even more special. It’s amazing how such heritage sites withstand time despite challenges like flooding.

Have you noticed any particular carving or story at the temple that fascinated you the most?

@Supriyadevkar mam You’ve absolutely nailed the #3MChallenge and #templechallenge with Kopeshwar Temple! This place looks phenomenal.

Knowing Katyar Kaljat Ghusli was filmed there is awesome, but it’s the intricate details and that fascinating ‘no Nandi’ story that really grab you. What a cool, historic find! :sparkles:
