Hello everyone!
The last few years a new industry of paid/fake reviews has been emerged. I’ve been thinking about how Google Maps can be more reliable and provide to the users, accurate information about the places they want to visit. A good solution would be a filter that could separate reviews from local guides (that can be considered reliable), and show a rating score that takes into account only ratings from local guides.
Any thoughts about this?

Thanks for sharing, @giannisandrianakis
One issue is that it is quite easy to become a Local Guide, so the spammers can just join the program. Therefore being a Local Guide does not always guarantee quality contributions.

@giannisandrianakis I, too, wish that I could filter or sort Google reviews by the most trustworthy reviewers. On Yelp, I often sort reviews by the Yelp Elite, who are nominated and approved yearly for their authentic identities and quality contributions. However, as @MortenCopenhagen said, anyone can become a Google Local Guide, so unfortunately filtering or sorting reviews for Local Guides will not help.
