Manjuyod Sandbar: The Maldives of the Philippines

Manjuyod Sandbar is a perfect testament that nature’s magical landscape can be seen thru seascape. Imagine a sandbar located at the centre of the sea, even coconut trees are nowhere in sight, except a few mand-made cottages that is reasonable. A white gem will emerge from the seafloor on low tide.

The Magical Prowess of Nature

Manjuyod Sandbar is a whole year-round destination. The best time to visit Manjuyod Sandbar is during the dry season in the Philippines – March to May, so you can witness its turquoise water and the bearable direct hit of the sun. There are no stores, restaurants in Manjuyod Sandbar, except one floating grocery stores and several plates of seafood floating cum banca store.

Weather is The Key

Weather is the key here. High and low tide needs to be considered when visiting. We were able to catch the sunrise and a little bit of sandbar but Iiked it probably due to the gloomy weather and the high tide is about to overlap the sandbar.

Hi @philip102 ,

Wow, this looks amazing! Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos! This looks like a very unique experience and your tips will come in handy. It is remarkably similar to the Maldives, have you been?

Dear @AlexaAC ,

Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, I’ve never been to Maldives. But googled the place and yeah quite a smaller version of it. The Philippines being an archipelago has 7,000+ islands to choose your best beach destination. Palawan serves as our last frontier for eco-tourism.

Kind Regards,

Charphil

Awesome thanks @philip102 !

Wow, what you say is so true. Eco-tourism is close to my heart and I try to visit countries where this is implemented. When I visit, I will add Palawan to my list.

So looking forward to your future posts!
