Manikarnika ghat - The burning ghat

Manikarnika ghat is one of oldest and most sacred ghat in varanasi. Manikarnika ghat is believed as one of the holiest cremation by hindus.

In Hinduism , death is considered as a gateway to another life marked by the results of one’s karma.

Manikarnika ghat the main burning ghat is the most auspicious place for hindu to be cremated…

Not a single day passes when dead bodies are not cremated here with the number going to hundreds every single day…

At the Manikarnika ght , remorseful chants are sung every hour of the day as dead bodies are cremated for eternal peace… the ghat is also known as the gateway to heaven by many worshipers…

Do they have a boating facility at the ghat to be able to view it from the riverside?

I visited there yesterday…

Yes boating service is available you can view all cremation process from riverside…
