Day 1: Mallorca Vacation - Cala Mondrago - Day 1

On Day 2 we decided to explore some more beaches in Mallorca. We had rented a car, we drove from our Air Bnb, which was located in Llucmajor to our first stop Alcudia Beach.

Alcudia beach is located on the Northeastern coast of the island. It is located in the ton of Alcudia. This beach is really beautiful with crystal clear water and white sand beaches. In fact this beach is almost 4km long and a very popular with tourists. This is a great place for families and children. Beach has several facilities, including showers, toilet, bars, restaurants, beach umbrellas etc.

We could see many folks engaged in water sports activities. Even though it was a hot day, we spent around 3hours in the beach and relaxing under those umbrellas with some beer of course!.

Day 2 route, First stop Alcudia beach, after that we visited a Thai restaurant for lunch, then we drove to another beach Cala pide la posada. On the way stopped at a vistapoint to enjoy spectacular view of the ocean and rock formations.

Here is a shot of Alcudia beach pier, where you can see folks enjoying the crystal clear water and white sand beach. You can also see one of the hotels located on the beach.

Shot of the pier from the beach. You can see gorgeous light blue water of the ocean.

Here is the google maps view of the Alcudia beach. In fact I ended up adding the pier to the map, since it was not present on the map!

As you can see the beach is very popular and crowded too. You can folks enjoying swimming and water sports.

You can rent these umbrellas on the beach, good place to relax enjoy a drink or too, after taking a dip in the beach!

After spending time in Alcudia beach we drove to a near by town to get lunch. Here is a view of the boats docked from the restaurant we visited for lunch.

We visited Cheftable Thai restaurant for lunch. Here is a collage of restaurant and food we ordered from the restaurant. Interestingly restaurant was owned and managed by Napalese couple. They were very accommodating, even though we visited little late during lunch hour.

After lunch we drove to another beach Cala Pi dela Posada. On the way we stopped at this vista point Mirador de Es Colomer.

Here is a shot from the vista point.

Shot of the vista point and lone boat in the ocean.

From the vista point, we could see Alcudia beach and near by town where we stopped for lunch.

Our original plan was to visit the light house Cap Formentor, un fortunately the road to the light house was closed. We ended up spending time on the beach Cala Pi dela Posada.

Here is a beautiful shot of Cala Pi dela Posada, it is a short walk from the near by parking lot. It is more secluded and less crowded compared to Alcudia beach.

Since we visited almost at the end of the day, we almost had the beach for ourselves!

You can see several boats parked here.

More beach umbrellas!

Shot of several boats parked near the beach.

Let me end the post with another shot of the pier at Alcudia beach.

This ends our day 2 of Mallorca. Day 3 post is coming soon, we explored Palma on day 3.
