This summer we planned to visit Summer island in Maldives. My daughter has just turned 16 months and we started our journey from Kolkata airport by Air India via Bangalore. Inflight entrainment was great and we served spicy meals.
Luckily we got fantastic sunny weather in Maldives despite rainy season. First day we stayed at a beach front hotel at Hulhumale, the main island of Maldives. We enjoyed beach walk with our little daughter. We visited an beautiful park “Central Park” in nearby. The place was great for photography.
The next day we took a speedboat from Velana International Airport to Summer island . Sea planes also go there. Our speedboat ride was great. After a 45 minute boat ride we reached our destination. The first scene was brilliant. The color of the sea (near the sea) is completely light green.
I took a few 360 photos of the island. Below is a short 360 video that I took myself.
Summer island location is situated extreme north west of Maldives. There was a restaurant in the beach named Samuga restaurant in the remote island over the Indian ocean. We enjoyed our complementary breakfast and dinner. One can enjoy everything like Gyms, playground, swimming pool etc in this private island. Snorkeling and Go pro videography is also available at a reasonable cost
After a few days trip we returned to Kolkata last week via Mumbai. Now it’s a trip to remember.
Have you travelled to Maldives? If yes, then do Share your experience with me.
great photos and great holiday! Wow did I read correctly: just a few days… how long have you been there? I would never wish to leave after staying in such paradise .
@LuigiZ Thank you. yes, you read my post correct. I was there in Maldives for just 5 days as my holiday was very limited. Hope i will visit Maldives again specially for the beauty. The place is just awesome.
Seems like quite the trip to remember and also leave all worries at home while enjoying time with the family - Maldives is a bucket list travel destination for myself. @DrShaunak how was pricing for the experiences you had on the main island?
@SP31 Thank you. I really enjoyed my stay in Maldives with my family.
Before visiting Summer Island, we stayed in Hulhumale, the main town near Male Airport. We took a morning walk to see the view of the city. The weather was perfect and we visited a park called Central Park, saw a large school, vegetable market and hospital during our walk. The place is very clean and I saw many Bangladeshis in the market. All very helpful.
Although the island is located in a remote part of the ocean, we have a very fast internet (Wi fi) connection.
So my experience in both the main island (Hulhumale) and the remote island is excellent and our visit is memorable.
Thanks for the additional insight, @DrShaunak - great to hear about the wifi, which at least for me, would be exclusively used for exploring and mapping on GMaps . Love the quick vid as well.
The Maldives truly is a paradise on Earth. I had the chance to visit for my honeymoon, and it was absolutely breathtaking. The crystal-clear waters, pristine beaches, and luxurious resorts make it a dream destination. But you know what? As much as I loved it, I’m also a big fan of exploring Europe. If you ever find yourself in Paris, don’t miss out on some offbeat tours at the Arc de Triomphe. It’s a fantastic way to experience the city from a unique perspective. Trust me, you’ll be blown away by the views! I’m new on this forum, but I wanted to share my thoughts. Happy travels, everyone!
