Majestic Manthokha Waterfall: The Crown Jewel of 🇵🇰 Skardu Gilgit Baltistan's Natural Wonders

Hello, Local Guides,

On my Skardu trip, the most fascinating thing for me was the natural magnificence of this region called Gilgit Baltistan. And if someone is in Gilgit Baltistan, how can anyone miss visiting and experiencing the mesmerizing beauty of Manthokha Waterfall?

Skardu Gilgit Baltistan is known for its breathtaking natural beauty, with stunning landscapes that attract visitors from around the world. Among the many natural wonders that this region has to offer, the Manthokha Waterfall stands out as one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring.

As I always praised in my previous posts from Skardu Trip, @Sarbland was the person who recommended I visit Skardu and experience the Autumn there. It was perfect advice and a great decision.

As we were staying in Baltistan Resort which was covered with snowy mountains from all sides, even in November when just after a couple of months a new season of Snowfall was about to come.

So the day we planned for Manthokha Waterfall was sunny but not a warm day at all, we had to wear our Jackets and sweaters.

We leave early in the morning for Manthokha Village as our Guide+Driver said: “if you leave earlier you can stop at several places to stay for a while, otherwise don’t blame me or regret missing these amazing places without your visit.” And we followed his advice.

From Baltistan resort to the point of Manthokha Waterfall, it did not seem so far in Kilometers but just 64 kilometers, but it’s a mountain area so drivers have to drive so carefully and a bit slower than other highways. So it took almost 2 hours to reach there. But during this trip, we stopped at some places and took some beautiful and memorable snaps.

When we were arriving near the spot which was our destination, I was stunned by the huge numbers of giant trees in Autumn color. It was an outstanding moment for me.

So we arrived at the incredible & beautiful waterfall of Manthokha which is just near Manthokha Village.

The breathtaking scenery of Manthokha waterfallwas awaiting us there, which made all of the people in the car a pin drop silence (except the Driver who was talking about the place nonstop :grinning: )

We spent almost three hours there, and mainly I sat just in front of the waterfall and just loved to observe the creation of the Almighty. But in between, I went near the waterfall and felt it by feeling the cold near to frozen water coming from upside down and then continuing as a river to the village. The Manthokha Waterfall is not just a beautiful sight; it is also a place of great cultural significance.

Because As you approach the waterfall, you can hear the sound of the water cascading down from the mountains. The surrounding landscape is rugged and rocky, with towering mountains in the distance.

And also, you are greeted by a stunning sight. The water flows down from a height of over 180 feet, crashing onto the rocks below and creating a misty spray that fills the air. The water is crystal clear and ice-cold, making it a refreshing place to cool off on a hot summer day.

My personal experience of visiting Manthokha Waterfall was nothing short of magical. As I approached the waterfall, I could feel the misty spray on my face and hear the roar of the water. The beauty of the surrounding landscape left me spellbound. I stood there for what felt like hours, just taking in the majesty of this natural wonder.

In conclusion, Manthokha Waterfall is a must-see destination for anyone visiting Skardu Gilgit Baltistan. It is a testament to the natural beauty of this region and a reminder of the power and majesty of nature. If you have the opportunity to visit this magical place, do not hesitate. You will be left with memories that will last a lifetime.

Amazing views, thank you for sharing. It is one of my dreams to visit Pakistan - so far I am travelling there only with use of Waze Map Editor. And as I know from Pakistan Waze community members there are much more such beautiful places including “Pakistan Swiss Alps” …
