Mahera Zamindar Bari is a historical structure located in Mirzapur Upazila of Tangail District, Bangladesh. This sprawling Zamindar Bari was built before 1890 on the model of Cordoba, Spain. I had the good fortune to visit this historical place a few days ago. So I am trying to share details about this place with you.
Mahera Zamindar Bari is not only a symbol of the ancient Zamindari system, but also a wonderful fusion of art, culture and tradition. Although the Zamindari system has been abolished, Mahera Zamindar Bari still attracts the attention of tourists. Every day, a large number of visitors come to see this Zamindar Bari. Itâs better to say at first, I visited this place on a weekend.
This Zamindar Bari has four large buildings named Maharaja Lodge, Ananda Lodge, Chowdhury Lodge and Kalicharan Lodge. Each architectural style of this Zamindar Bari is a wonderful blend of ancient and modern styles. These not only enhance the beauty of the house, but also carry historical and cultural importance.
There is a huge garden here that creates vibrant beauty. The garden is full of various native and exotic flowers and plants. This garden is related to the history and heritage of the landlordâs house. The entire part of the garden is quite clean, which I liked very much.
There is a huge pond called Visakha Sagar next to the main gate. This pond is also famous for the historical importance of this landlordâs house. There are also well-decorated flower gardens and natural scenery around the pond, which fill the entire area with a special beauty. This pond has boat riding facilities. There is another pond called Pasra Pond. That pond is full of colorful fish.
There is also a newly built childrenâs play zone and a small zoo. This zoo has different species of birds, animals and colorful fish. This playground and zoo are a great place for children to entertain themselves in a natural environment. There is also a beautiful mosque here for Muslim prayers.
I think this is not only a historical place for tourists, but also a combination of peace, beauty and cultural heritage. There is a new experience at every corner, which will fascinate you.
