Riga is a quite unique place by itself, and has a lot of gems to visit. But today i would love to befriend one place with you. I doubt that you will find about this place anywhere in tourist guides, even though it is in the heart of the city.
This one is called a Vertigo bar, but don’t let the word “bar” distract you. It is not that kind of bar that everybody imagines. Vertigo bar is more a quiet place, i would even call it a chill place. It is located on the 6 floor of local cinema and has an incredible view of the city.
This bar is considered to be a part of the cinema, but most of the people arrive minutes before movie start, so the bar is usually empty, and you can chill and enjoy the whole place mostly by yourself, sipping a cup of coffee
My personal recommendation - try to get here by the sunset and sit down outside to enjoy the view.
Maybe bring a book or a friend to get a good conversation going, take coffee or tea, stay for a moment and chill.
BTW prices are pretty standard - you will get ice coffee here for around 3.50 euros, arm tea around 2.50 euros. No food, this place is drinks only.
