MaGIC-10. The "EXPOSURE TRIANGLE" - Aperture, Shutter Speed & ISO - TravellerG

Hi, dear all,

(I was travelling, hence the delay in this Post)

@DeniGu @Bishnu_Modhu @SalmaanN @NirajBhusal @omartonti @Koby @muangmin @geliersanta @Lera76 @Justdalbir

  1. Aperture,
  2. Shutter
  3. ISO

Have you any time heard about “The Exposure Triangle” …?

Again, what we always want is a “Well Exposed” picture – Am I right? Yes… Once you clearly understand the above three Terms, you will have excellent control over your Picture! In fact, it is very simple – give me a few minutes, you will be thorough!

#. An Aperture, Shutter & ISO balanced camera click will result in a properly “Exposed” Photo:

Brief:

#. Aperture is responsible for the quantum of light entering a camera, through the lens (in the simplest way)…OK? {Think about our “Iris” of our Eyes}

#. Shutter determines the duration of time, during which the light enters the camera. {Think of our “Eye Lids”}

#. ISO (is the short-form of International Standard’s Organization); this parameter defines the sensitivity of the Camera ‘Sensor’ or the film. (Think of our “Retina”).

Now, with this in mind, can you kindly try to visualize the following diagram? Think. if you want, you can do it easily. {If you could get an approximate idea, then you won in first-class – pl wait for distinction…OK?

Here it is…

[Details will follow, in the next session; meanwhile, have a look at the Triangle for some time… think a bit… pleeeeasse].

Thank you dear @Lera76 ,

I am sure, like the Grid line, this can contribute a lot.

Most of today’s cameras, have got **“PRO” Mode…**is it not…? If you have time to shoot a picture, then, “Pro” mode gives you, much better results - Please try.

All “Professionals” shoot in Manual (Pro) Mode.

I shall explain the same in the next session…

Thanks

Hi @TravellerG ,

Thanks for shedding more light on these three tricky aspects of photography!

I especially liked your comparison with the human eye, as it made it more relatable and easy to understand. And illustrating your words with diagrams and pictures is definitely a winning strategy. :slight_smile:

Looking forward to your next lesson!
