Macau - The first things that come to mind when someone mentions Macau are the lights, bling and the 24 hour Casinos!! Even daylight photos are rare as compared to night time ones!
My first trip to Macau covered the top search results from the Macau Search Result Page on Google. The photos attached below are from my recent 2nd trip to the Island country and this time, i decided to follow the local recommendations.
Mind you, the reason behind the laziness during the first trip was actually reasonable. Macau’s Official Languages are Chinese and Portuguese and a lot of the English speaking folks we met were actually ‘unofficial’ tour guides. We were worried about being scammed and decided to play it safe. So we only went to the most popular spots.
This time around, I was travelling with my family and decided to properly research before i left. By the way, my parents are senior citizens, so the entire journey was planned keeping in mind their accessibility by wheelchair. The local guides program was absolutely pivotal in making that a success. Seeing the ‘Wheelchair-Accessible Entrance’ tag only added cheer to my parents faces while providing us relief. Being Millennials, Our FOMOs (Fear Of Missing Out - for the baby boomers out there) were seriously activated and we didn’t want our parents to miss out on anything. Coming back to the topic, the Local Guides program has only given more confidence to my family that we can travel to the Infinity and Beyond !
