Love On A Plate: How The GoodLife Restaurant By SRS Stole My Heart And Tastebuds

You know the saying, ‘the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach,’ this saying holds true for me as well. So, how can I tell if someone loves me? Well, if they’re giving me food, sending me food, inviting me to eat, or even being food, that’s a clear sign of affection for sure! Right? You agree with me?

I am writing this while The GoodLife by Kanye West is playing in my head. My dear friend Danielle called me up and asked me to join her to paint Lagos red smiles. Okay, I might be exaggerating a bit; she wanted us to go food tasting. And you bet I was up for it! I slipped into my comfy green two-piece from Krenitive because when I eat, I like to feel free, you know? winks

We kicked off our culinary journey by making a reservation at The GoodLife Restaurant by SRS. It’s nestled in a serene spot at no. 14, AJ Marinho Drive, Victoria Island. Locating it was a breeze.

Now, let me tell you about the GoodLife experience. The moment we stepped inside, I was taken aback by the people, their warm and welcoming vibes. The atmosphere was so serene, and the soft background music added an extra touch of elegance. The entrance has automated doors, so no need to stress about holding the door. However, gentlemen, this is no excuse not to open or hold the door for ladies winks. Another day, we can discuss women equally opening the door for their men.

The restaurant has three charming dining areas to choose from. The first is a bright and airy hall right near the entrance. Then, there’s a more intimate section that you can reserve for special gatherings with friends. Lastly, there’s this super cool private hall near the bar, perfect for striking those Instagram-worthy poses. Naturally, Danielle and I opted for the latter because we wanted Instagram-worthy images…

We received princess treatment as we were ushered to our seats with our seats pulled out for us. Now, let me introduce you to Osas, our incredible waiter. He was an absolute gem! We scanned the menu bar code to view the menu which was a delightful read. Each dish was described with such detail that I almost wished I could order everything. Deciding what to eat is always a battle for me, and Osas sensed that. Osas was considerate enough to ask if I had any allergies, which surprised me as I had never been asked that before. He made excellent suggestions for me, describing each meal’s taste, and I knew I was in for a treat. I was really impressed by his in-depth knowledge of each meal.

Speaking of the menu, it’s an à la carte wonderland, where you can customize your dream meal.

When the food arrived, they even helped us place the napkin on our laps. And now, let’s talk about the feast that followed. First up, we were served a Complimentary Starter - Bread Rolls and Butter. Oh my goodness! These rolls were out of this world, surpassing any bread I’ve ever had. And trust me, I’m a certified bread lover and I have tried any of the brands that you can think of mentioning! I’ve tried them all, but the ones at the GoodLife restaurant stole the show.

Danielle ordered Strawberry milkshake, and I went for Chocolate milkshake (my go-to choice every time). After trying Danielle’s milkshake, I would suggest going for the Strawberry milkshake instead.

For starters, we enjoyed Goat Meat Tacos with Yoghurt Dip and Chicken Tacos with Yoghurt Dip, both of which were rich and flavorful, they left our taste buds dancing in delight. It also had me physically dancing on my chair. lol

With every meal, we received a change of cutlery, and our waiter ensured we knew the appropriate cutlery for each course.

Main Course:

  • Pan-Grilled Rib Eye Steak and Red Wine Jus - well done with Fried Rice.

  • Suya Lamb Chops with Red Wine Jus - well done with Fragrance Coconut Rice.

Oh, the juicy goodness of that steak! It was bursting with flavor, and every bite felt like a flavour explosion in my mouth. And the best part? The plating was edible! Yes, you heard it right! It was a delight to taste the artwork on our plates.

And just when we thought we couldn’t eat another bite, the dessert arrived! We indulged in Sticky Toffee Pudding with Ice Cream and Chilly Orange Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream. My eyes were feasting on these beauties before my taste buds got their turn. Talk about food that’s not just delicious but visually captivating too!

Our dining experience was nothing short of spectacular, we had to personally thank Chef Dominic for the culinary magic he conjured up and he graciously shared insights into the meal preparation process.

The GoodLife Restaurant by SRS impressed us with its elegant aesthetics, attentive staff, and immaculate kitchen. If you’re looking for luxury dining at its finest, this is the place to go.

I could feel your enjoyment and excitement from this post, and I enjoyed reading every word! Thank you for sharing @UdokaObis .

I have so much to say! First of all – food is literally the way to my heart, so of course I am drooling at each picture! Second, how do you keep up with the restaurants in Lagos (if you do)?! Just when you think you’ve tried it all, there is a new surprise that pops out!

Third – a good starter will always be a weakness, especially when the bread rolls and butter hits just right! :joy:

Finally, there is nothing that tops off an amazing dining experience than even better, top tier service! I love it for you hun! Keep sharing more!

I am not a foodie but I like to taste different new delicacies. Maybe, someday I may check The GoodLife Restaurant. I hope they treat me as a Prince, I don’t mind if someone opens the door for me  .

I am Yogurt and Milkshake freak. Would love the dip with Chicken Tacos.

But finally, it’s goat meat peppersoup and palmwine for me.

Just curious to ask @UdokaObis do they provide inclusive services? What is their accessibility policy? Do they have braille menu, wheelchair ramps and seating?

Very pertinent question on accessibility, this is something I will definitely look out for in my further outings
