Hello all guides,
During my trip to Siem Reap in December, my friend Ladies Tuk Tuk drove me to visit Lotus Silk Farm and test lotus ice cream and lotus biscuits.
Lotus Silk Farm, founded by Samatoa, is a heartwarming initiative where sustainability and tradition come together. Since 2003, we’ve been crafting the world’s most eco-friendly textiles while providing meaningful employment to vulnerable women in Cambodia. Each thread of lotus silk we produce carries the story of empowerment, respect for nature, and a deep connection to our rich heritage.
What I am interested in about the farm is that all of the employees are women who are working to support the family. And another interesting thing is about the farm: it recycles lotus pressed with other flowers to make a paper for the cover for the gift boxes, like you see in the photos.
If you want to visit Lotus Silk Farm, I recommend visiting at sunrise and taking a leisurely boat ride floating among the vibrant lotus fields that stretch out in every direction. This peaceful journey offers a unique perspective of the farm, allowing tourists to admire the lotus blooms up close and learn about their role in silk production. It’s an ideal way to relax, connect with nature, and see the beauty of the farm from a different angle.
